Dr Norton came to Western General Hospital in 1973, where he was the first Gastroenterologist and the only Endoscopist at the Hospital for the following 10 years, consulting on General Medicine and Gastroenterology cases. Dr Norton retired from the hospital after 35 years and now works at Western Private Hospital and consults from 30 Eleanor Street, Footscray.
Dr Norton is an accredited Endoscopist by conjoint committtee of Gastroenterology Society of Australia and a member of American Gastroenterology Association.
Dr Norton’s main interests have always been luminal gastroenterology with most of his work in inflammatory Bowel Disease and Functional Bowel Disease. He started at Western Gastroenterology Services in 1982 and has seen it grow into well-established, accredited Endoscopy Unit with multiple Gastroenterologists and Surgeons. He is proud of the way Endoscopy unit was expanded in services and skills.
